  • Captain America: The First Avenger

The fifth movie of MCU, but in reality, it was the first one, where it all started, and this is an origin of the story. Captain came to power during World War II, and he was the first Avenger as per the story describes.

  • Iron Man

Iron Man was the first movie released by the company, and at that time, nobody knows about any other superhero, so to the world, Iron Man was the only one, but now we all know the truth. Nick Fury approached Stark by the end of the movie to join the Avengers Initiative.

  • Iron Man 2

It was the third movie by MCU, and it took place before the events of the film, The Incredible Hulk, which was the second released by the company. Iron Man is before in the chronological order because it shows rampage with the Hulk in this part.

  • The Incredible Hulk

Released before the Iron Man 2, the post-credit scenes display the fact that Tony Stark starts working with S.H.I.E.L.D officially.

  • Thor

Many of the events happened in this flick around the time as those in the movies, Iron Man 2 and the Incredible Hulk, and it revolved around Mjolnir. In the film, Thor began with Mjolnir, but when he angered Odin, he lost it.

  • Avengers

When Avengers released, Marvel fans already know about their heroes to some extent. Other characters like Black Widow was in the movie Iron Man 2, Hawkeye had a cameo role in Thor, and the rest of the four heroes have their solo films.

  • Iron Man 3

The end of the Iron Man Trilogy, Iron-Man 3 revolved around Tony Stark who dealt with PTSD. He saved the world from the alien invasion.

  • Thor: The Dark World

In Thor: The Dark World, the God of Thunder back on Asgard, and his brother faced imprisonment for his actions in the movie, The Avengers. Well, the post-credit scenes of this movie show Sif and Volstagg taking the Aether to the Collector, so it should be before the Guardians of the Galaxy part.

  • Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Released in 2014, Captain America: The Winter Soldier introduced new Marvel characters in Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and he was a bad buy at the time in this movie.

  • Guardians of the Galaxy

It is a bit difficult to classify as it takes place off Earth, but there are some clues about the events in this movie. You can take a hint from Peter Quill’s larceny from Earth, and it happened in 1988, so Guardians of the Galaxy takes place after 26 years of that robbery (2014).

  • Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

In sequential order, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes place only three months after the first movie, so it’s apparent why Groot is still a toddler in this movie. This film came next in the Avengers chronology.

  • Avengers: Age of Ultron

It’s the next movie after Guardians of the Galaxy, in which all heroes back together again for a massive battle, and in this film, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver introduce by the makers, too.

  • Ant-Man

The movie after the Age of Ultron, and the head of Ant-Man has seen to their base.

  • Captain America: Civil War

One year after the Age of Ultron, when Falcon brings in Ant-Man to help the Iron Man in the fight against the superheroes who didn’t want to sign the Accords.

  • Black Panther

Black Panther’s events happened right after the events of Captain America: Civil War, and even though the movie released even before the Civil War.

  • Spider-Man: Homecoming

After a few months of Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man takes place, and the movie also showed a relationship between two Marvel characters: Peter Parker and Tony Stark.

  • Doctor Strange

It can be a little tricky to know the chronology of Doctor Strange because Strange’s story begins at the same time as Avengers: Civil War, but he didn’t show up as hero till after the Spider-Man: Homecoming.

Well, when Tony Stark started working on the Sokovia Accords, which was the same month when Strange met a car accident. Fast forward to four months, Doctor headed to Nepal for training, and it was the same time when Spider-Man fought Vulture.

  • Thor: Ragnarok

In the post-credit scene from the movie, Doctor Strange, Thor visits Doctor Strange, so the rough estimation is that it takes place following that film. Moreover, it ends with another post-credit scene of Thanos’ ship that comes upon them, and it points out towards Avengers: Infinity War.

  • Ant-Man and the Wasp

It takes place two years after the blockbuster flick, Captain America: Civil War that based on how long Scott Lang has been under arrest. The Ant-Man and the Wasp ended with his friends perishing at the snap of Thanos’s fingers that means it happened before the movie Infinity War.

  • Avengers: Infinity War

It’s easy to find out its chronological order as it begins, where the movie Thor: Ragnarok ends, and it also includes Black Panther after the events in its solo film.
